Two teenage boys were rescued after spending three terrifying days lost inside the catacombs beneath Paris.
The Stocking Girl’s Wet Pink PetalsGuardianreports that two boys, aged 16 and 17, were found by a search team equipped with rescue dogs Wednesday morning after getting lost in the maze of tunnels beneath the streets. The boys were rushed to the hospital and treated for hypothermia.

Though a small section of the catacombs is open to the public, there are approximately 150 miles of tunnels that form an eerie maze beneath the streets. While being trapped in a creepy, dark maze is enough to spook anyone, the catacombs are filled with the bones of more than 6 million people.
The series of tunnels were filled with bones after the cemeteries of Paris became too full in the 18th century. As a public health issue, the city removed the dead from the cemeteries, and placed them beneath the streets in a series of abandoned tunnels that were previously used when limestone quarries were mined to build the city.
Although entering the catacombs is illegal, the tunnels are popular among young kids and partiers, despite the tunnels being completely dark, and the ambient temperature hovering around 59 degrees Fahrenheit.
A quick search on YouTube will bring you a number of clips of young Parisians partying in the caverns.
And others showing urban explorers entering the caves at night.
It's unclear who tipped off the police that the boys were lost in the tunnels, but we're sure they're grateful for whoever blew the whistle.
