You can take a guided tour down the depths of Australia's Great Barrier Reef in a live broadcast on Twitter's Periscope on Thursday, 12:30 p.m. AEST where people can ask questions to travel personality Mitch Oates.
SEE ALSO: The very much threatened Great Barrier Reef is not 'in danger,' UNESCO saysOates has a "specialist scuba mask" fitted, which allows him to answer in real-time. It's an interesting initiative, given recent talk around the reef's health amid the constant threat of climate change.
There's also a second broadcast at 2 p.m. AEST, which features the founder of Earth Hour, Andy Ridley, and his new conservation project called Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef on how people can protect the natural site.
"The Great Barrier Reef is a living treasure which is ours to protect and share with visitors from around the world," said Tourism and Events Queensland CEO, Leanne Coddington, said in a statement via email.
"The Great Barrier Reef Periscope Adventure will showcase the underwater wonder and allow people to engage with the Reef in an entirely new way thanks to technology."
You can watch the broadcast on the accounts Twitter AU (@TwitterAU), (@queensland), and Citizens of the Great Barrier Reef (@AndyRidley).
