After several popular LGBTQ vloggers like Rowan Ellis and sex video downloadTyler Oakley said YouTube was incorrectly censoring their videos using its "Restricted Mode," the site has addressed the error and finally offered an apology to those impacted.

On Monday afternoon, the YouTube Creators Twitter account released a short statement apologizing for the "confusion" users were experiencing with the site's Restricted Mode -- a feature that allows users to filter out "potentially objectionable content," according to Google.

YouTube Creators admitted that several videos were incorrectly labeled on the site, which led to them being hidden. Furthermore, the account admitted that the error was "not right" and explained they are working to address the problem.

On Sunday, YouTube explained to Gizmodo, "Some videos that cover subjects like health, politics and sexuality may not appear for users and institutions that choose to use this feature." However it now seems that the videos were simply mislabeled.

The new statement differs from the account's controversial Sunday night tweet, which offered several additional details on the filtering process but didn't admit to any wrongdoing.

The latest tweet promised that more information will be forthcoming, but users like musical duo Tegan & Sara -- who discovered several of their music videos disappeared -- are still hoping for additional answers.
