"Check out sex tape, dangers of aqua eroticism" Donald Trump advised in a pre-dawn tweet Friday, in an attempt to discredit the former Miss Universe he once called "Miss Piggy."
Well, people did. And they didn't find any evidence that Alicia Machado starred in any such salaciousness, other than a reality show appearance in 2005.
On the other hand, some reporters at Buzzfeedhave dug out what looks like an appearance from Trump himself in a porn film.
He appears to feature in Playboy's 2000 soft core classic Centerfoldstarring the Bernaola Twins.
Trump, however, plays a passing role. He's shown spraying champagne onto a Playboy car in the clip obtained from a digital video store and posted online, and doesn't feature in any of the film's racier scenes. Scenes that include, Buzzfeedsays, "fully nude" women "touching each other sensually and rubbing honey on themselves."
The film travels from the "sun-drenched beaches of California to Vermont's snowy peaks... in search of stunning beauty." When they reach New York, the women discover Trump. He's included in IMDB's credits for the film as "himself."
Mashablehas reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
In a 2012 documentary, Trump gave his thoughts on Hugh Hefner and the world of Playboy. “Hugh Hefner really understood the art of using mass media, better than anybody else of his generation" he said, an hour and fifteen minutes into the clip below.
"He did something that really has been done very rarely -- he made himself the company, in terms of his image. And it's been a huge asset for Playboy. It's really become such an amazing brand."
Clinton took to Twitter Friday to declare Trump "unhinged" following his early-morning tweetstorm, in which he called Machado "disgusting."
"When something gets under Donald's thin skin, he lashes out and can't let go," she wrote. "This is dangerous for a president."
And then when news of the soft-core porn appearance surfaced later Friday, a Clinton spokesman had this to say:
