The I Am a Playthingnew 'Game of Thrones' trailer released during San Diego Comic Con today, dropping hints of the terrors and triumphs ahead. Much like one of Dany's 747-sized dragons, we're breathing fire all over it.
Here are 10 extensive thoughts, theories, and analyses we gleaned from just a single minute of the new Season 7 footage:
Cersei called Daenerys the "Mad King's daughter" who must be stopped because she will, "destroy the realm." But, as the woman who launched a terror attack on her own city last season using the Mad King's favorite chemical for mass destruction, we'd suggest she stop throwing stones from her glass house. The 'Mad Queen' sure has a lot more in common with the Mad King than Dany these days.
I could recognize that curmudgeon of a sourpuss face anywhere: That's Randyll Tarly (who we last saw politely demanding the death of his own son last season) speaking with Cersei in the Throne Room. They're clearly plotting Dany's demise, but I'd caution Randyll to remember that Sam 'The Slayer' Tarly stole his Valyrian sword for a good reason. So here's hoping we get to watch Randyll Tarly die by literally falling on his own sword.

Speaking of Valyrian swords, Jon Snow states the obvious (as he is wont to do) that, "We cannot defeat the Night King's army on our own. Daenerys has Dragonfire." Yes, she does. She's also sitting on an entire mountain of Dragonglass, which we've already theorized could be the secret ingredient to making more White Walker-obliterating Valyrian steel. Let's pray this leads to a Night's Watch that's much better equipped to fight the undead than the one we see in the new trailer.
Will the Northerners ever manage to get their heads out of their own asses long enough to listen to Jon even once? It's debatable, seeing as one member of his counsel still bristles at the idea of an alliance with Daenerys because, "Targaryens can't be trusted." Yeah, man, neither can a Bolton, or a Lannister who launched a terrorist attack on her own people (see #1 above). Or Littlefinger, or even Sansa for that matter, really. Trust is thin in Westeros right now. I suggest we stop bickering and go ahead with the obvious alliance that needs to take place.
Relatedly, how many Sobered Speeches will Davos have to deliver this season? I wish people would learn to skip ahead to the part where they just agree to do whatever he politely suggests they do.
On the subject of Danaerys, has anyone bothered telling our fiery Dragon Queen that she just landed smack dab in the middle of a war against undead ice monsters? I feel like that's something Tyrion (one of the only characters who didn't scoff at the Night's Watch warning back in Season 2) could have mentioned on the boat ride over.

Euron Greyjoy, looking very pleased with himself and still rocking that new Scandinavian punk rock band look, is seen being cheered into King's Landing by the smallfolk. Could this be his return with the ominous "gift" he promised Cersei during this season's premiere? Many are speculating the gift could either be: a) One of Dany's dragons (either alive and magically bound to serve him or plain old dead and roasting on a spit), b) A new Dragon awoken from Dragonstone, or c) A successful reclaiming of the fleet currently held by his niece and nephew, which would kill two ravens with one stone by both weakening Dany's forces and getting Cersei more manpower.
Well, even if Euron and Cersei doget married, a make out session following Euron's victory lap seems to indicate that this won't put an end to the twincest. But watch out, Cersei, because as book-readers know, Euron can be known to be the, uh, vengeful and jealous type.
A brief shot of Theon and Yara's worried faces on a ship gives credence to the theory (supported by previous trailers) that they will suffer in a battle at sea, presumably against their beloved uncle.
We could do a whole other list on just the trailer's mic drop moment: when Melisandre meets Dany in Dragonstone and claims to believe that, "You have a role to play ... as does another." First of all, Mel is turning into quite the fickle Red Priestess, isn't she? Ready to jump ship the minute another potential Azor Ahai rises from the flames. For another, her statement is totally inline with a long-held fan theory that Jon and Dany will join together in a marriage of ice and fire (though hopefully not a literal marriage, considering that he's her nephew, and all). We're not sure how much Mel knows about Jon's true parentage. But, like many redditors, she does seem to believe that the two will unite to become the prophesied Azor Ahai reborn, AKA The Prince (and/or Princess!) Who Was Promised to defeat the Others. For a refresher on the legend of Azor Ahai, check out this video.
There's much to come in the remaining six episodes. Let's remember they're getting through allof this new stuff in only sixepisodes.
May the Gods be merciful.
