Don't believe everything you read.
As many Harry Potter fans know,To Be Twenty (Avere vent’anni) for the series' 20th anniversary this year Bloomsbury released new editions of the first book. These new editions come in four different designs, one for each of the four Hogwarts Houses, with extra features and fun facts tailored to each.
SEE ALSO: Cozy up inside the Hogwarts house of your choosing for the winterThough these new editions hit shelves this past summer, eagle eyed readers are now noticing some pretty blatant errors in the books.
First reported on the fan site The Rowling Library, the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw editions have a facts page in the back about the professors who head those Houses, Sprout and Flitwick respectively. The books list those two as having once dated. As adorable and odd-coupled as that would have been, it's also completely made up.
As Mashablereaders know, we here spend a lot of time reading JK Rowling's tweets. But Rowling has never written or tweeted about a Sprout/Flitwick pairing. The humor site CollegeHumor, however, did include a fake photoshopped tweet in a Rowling roundup that seems to be the source of Bloomsbury's mistake.
Bloomsbury told The Rowling Library that they're now aware of their error, and will fix it in reprints. But it does beg the question: is JK Rowling too busy with new plays and movies to fact check the books that made her famous?
Maybe we should tweet at her and ask.
