Days before its big MacBook event,Watch Actresses' Survival Skills Online which takes place in Cupertino on Oct. 27, Apple has released a new version of macOS Sierra, bringing the version number to 10.12.1.
The update mostly brings bug fixes, but there is one new feature: The photos taken on an iPhone 7 Plus in the recently released Portrait mode will now be automatically be added to a new smart album in Photos.
The update is available through Apple's Mac Store. The full release notes are below:

Improves the compatibility of Microsoft Office when using iCloud Desktop and Documents.
Fixes an issue that may prevent Mail from updating when using a Microsoft Exchange account.
Fixes an issue that caused text to sometimes paste incorrectly when using Universal Clipboard.
Improves reliability of Auto Unlock with Apple Watch.
Improves security and stability in Safari.
Fixes an issue that may cause Mail to display unnecessary password prompts for AOL accounts.
Improves compatibility with Fujitsu's ScanSnap scanning software.
Addresses a “Filter Failed” error when printing to some Canon printers.
Fixes an issue that may prevent Grapher files from opening.
Brings back the Safari option to "never use font sizes smaller than” for displaying fonts on webpages.
On Thursday, Apple is rumored to show off new MacBook Pro models, which sorely need an update, and at least one other laptop, though it's unclear whether it will be a MacBook Air or a MacBook. And although Apple's Mac and iMac lines could also use an update, latest rumors point to this event being only about the MacBook.
